Respect shapes everything about this platform - how we handle your data, how we've designed the features, the decisions made on principle before anyone was watching. It runs in both directions: the respect we have for our members, and how members show up for each other.

Privacy by architecture, not policy

Privacy promises are easy to make and easy to break. What matters is whether the platform is structurally built to keep them, not just contractually obligated to try.

ALTLFE's commitments to your data aren't policies that can be quietly revised when commercial pressure mounts. They're built into how the platform works.

Your messages are yours alone

Messages between members are encrypted end-to-end. Our administrators cannot read them - by design. Not as a default that can be toggled. Not as a policy that could change. It's how the system is built, and it's how it stays.

Why this matters for intimate conversations. You're sharing things here you don't share in most places. A platform that claims to protect your messages while retaining the ability to read them isn't actually protecting them. We've accepted the operational constraint that comes with genuine encryption - including how it shapes our approach to disputes - because the alternative would be disrespectful to every person using this platform.

Deleted means deleted

When you delete your account, your data is deleted - completely and permanently. No third-party backups, no copies with providers we don't control. The only exceptions are records we're legally required to keep.

No third-party AI - ever

Most platforms send your content to external AI services for moderation. We built ours in-house, trained on our own data - so your content never leaves our environment. It costs more. We've decided that's our cost to carry.

Built for how you actually relate

Most platforms were designed for solo users. ALTLFE lets partners share a profile - whether you're a couple, a polycule, or want to present as a unit. Every member has equal control. Every action is visible to all.

Your core identity is locked to you. Name, gender, sexuality etc...  these fields can only be edited by the person they describe. Partners can shape the shared space between you, but they cannot speak for who you fundamentally are.

Content protection

Media uploaded to ALTLFE carries two protections: a visible watermark and a hidden digital fingerprint that only we can read. If your content surfaces somewhere it shouldn't, it carries the evidence of where it came from.

Being straight with you

No platform can prevent screenshots - any that claim otherwise are lying. What we can do is make unauthorised sharing traceable, so it's never anonymous. Honest protection over false promises.

Why we're different

ALTLFE is bootstrapped. No venture capital, no institutional investors, no pressure to monetise your data to satisfy a returns schedule.

Most platforms in this space were built to grow fast and sell - either to acquirers or to advertisers. That model puts investor interests ahead of community interests, every time.

Our relationship with your data. Your data belongs to you - as a design constraint, not a legal formality. We're bootstrapped, with no advertising business and no investor asking us to monetise what you share. The platform is funded by memberships.

Built to protect you. Encryption, deletion, in-house moderation, image watermarking - these aren't features we added. They're the architecture the platform was built inside of. We removed the commercial pressures that compromise privacy before we started.

Your data leaves when you do. Sharing a profile doesn't mean surrendering control of it. Your images, your identity, your data belong to you - if you leave, they leave with you. No one holds on to your media or your presence without your continued participation.

We've made it harder not to be. Ghosting has an alternative. Boundaries are visible before anyone sends a message. Reports have real consequences. We've made the respectful path the easier one, and the disrespectful one progressively harder.
